Honda Twitter Account Stands With “Hilary,” Whoever That Is
Last night, a record number of Americans gathered around their television sets to watch the first presidential debate in US history in which Rosie O’Donnell was a topic of discussion.
That was just one of the unexpected pop culture names that ended up being dropped into a contest to determine who will be the next leader of the free world. Somehow, this supposedly serious debate also involved the mention of puppets from various children’s television programs, including “Miss Piggy” and “Sean Hannity.”
Even a few automotive brands—which typically shy away from anything as controversial as politics—got in on the act. Ford took to Twitter to dispute Donald Trump’s claims about the company sending jobs to Mexico, while Honda’s official Twitter account sent out this tweet during the debate:
Looks like @Honda forgot the first and second rule in corporate social networking: Avoid politics and don’t take sides. #DebateNight pic.twitter.com/RiFZ6xYGKK

“I’m with Hilary,” the tweet read, before it was deleted a few moments later.
But wait, which Hilary?
Duff? Swank?
You’re probably thinking Clinton, because of the “DebateNight” hashtag and the podium emoji, but that doesn’t really make sense, since the Democratic nominee for president spells her name with two L’s, not one. And why would Honda risk alienating customers by explicitly endorsing a presidential candidate?
One possible explanation is that whoever runs the Honda social media account forgot to sign into his or her personal account before tweeting out some misspelled but heartfelt support for #TeamClinton.
Or maybe Honda’s twitter account was hacked. Hey, maybe it was hacked by Russia!
I mean, it could be Russia, but it could also be China. It also could be someone sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, okay?! You don’t know!
And that’s the point, folks. We just don’t know what the hell is going on. Honda is doing a terrible job with its cyber, believe me, it’s a mess. Honda doesn’t win with cyber anymore, and it’s sad, it really is, folks. Honda better start getting tough on cyber—bigly!

He just watches the original series, though, none of the spin-offs. And also only the ones they made before Jerry Orbach died. Season five was really the peak, in his opinion.
