Hoverboard-Riding Priest Suspended by Church
Anyone who has ever attended mass knows that the service can be just a tad long. Sensing that his congregation needed something to help keep their attention during the final blessing of his Christmas Eve mass, Father Albert San Jose from the diocese of San Pablo in Laguna, The Philippines, greeted his parishioners by singing a Christmas song whole riding a hoverboard around the nave.

While the priest’s stunt certainly grabbed the attention of his congregation, the diocese was not impressed, issuing the following statement Tuesday night via Facebook:

Many Facebook commenters were outraged at the diocese’s statement, arguing that it’s archaic and goes against Pope Francis’ forward-thinking approach. Although it should be noted that hoverboard have been known to overheat, explode, or catch on fire, and are even banned on streets in the UK and New York City.
Unless he was using one of those Lexus hoverboards, which isn’t really a hoverboard at all.
