Upcoming auction to feature timeless Disneyland vehicles

Chances are that you know someone who collects Disney memorabilia, or perhaps you yourself collect it! The accumulation of Disneyana has become an obsession for many looking to preserve their childhood and the legacy of the beloved production studio.

For those looking to take their collection from simple knickknacks to truly rare items, a California-based gallery has some unique items available.

On November 21st, multiple official Disneyland attraction ride cars are being auctioned at Van Eaton Galleries in Los Angeles. Many items will be available at the gallery’s “Collecting Disneyland” auction taking place that Saturday. The auction will take place both live and online, and participants can register at the official site.

For the rest of us who are just curious to see what’s being offered, you can view the catalog online.

The Whole Truth… Debunking harmful car-related myths

Disneyland Classic Car: The Peoplemover

You might recognize these Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover ride cars from the aerial cruiser that gave visitors a bird’s eye view of the park from 1967 to 1995. Over the course of its nearly 30-year run, the ride transported over 100 million guests.

Disneyland Classic Car: The Skyway

From 1956 to 1994, the most exciting way to travel between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland had to be via the Skyway. This iconic ferrying ride transported guests in bucket ride cars suspended high above the rest of the park. You could even get a glimpse of the Matterhorn attraction and Abominable Snowman while taking the aerial tour.

Disneyland Classic Car: Space Mountain Pod

If you’ve been to California’s Disneyland amusement park, you’ve probably ridden in this car. Space Mountain has long been one of the location’s main attractions. This futuristic, indoor thrill ride opened in 1977, patterned after the same attraction that opened in Walt Disney World Florida. These uniquely-designed Space Mountain ride vehicles possess an outer space rocket-like appearance recognizable to any fan.
