Bottles? Where we’re going, we don’t need bottles…

Ladies and gentlemen, we are fast approaching October 22, 2015; the date that Marty McFly time travels to in Back to the Future Part II.  In the grand tradition of life imitating art, some of the film’s predictions have a shot at actually coming to fruition by then—for example, Lexus is claiming to have created a real hoverboard, and even more incredibly, the Chicago Cubs are still in contention to make the playoffs.

One technological breakthrough that fans are still clamoring for, however, is that nifty Pepsi bottle that Marty orders in the Café 80’s:

British YouTube user DaveHax makes videos devoted to life hacks, recipes, science projects, and fun arts and crafts. In honor of the thirtieth anniversary of Back to the Future, he put together this delightful tutorial, which shows how to turn a simple Pepsi can into a model DeLorean DMC-12:

Hey, it may not be as cool as a 3D-printed DeLorean, but it’s certainly cheaper.

In case you’d like to try your hand at making one of these carbonated car models, we’ve gone ahead and screenshotted the templates for you:
