Hyundai recently announced the 2017 Elantra Eco will carry a starting MSRP of $21,485

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco will be compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

While the 2017 Hyundai Elantra might not provide the same level of fuel efficiency as the 2016 Chevy Cruze, the new Elantra Eco model does yield 40 mpg on the highway and a starting MSRP of $21,485 has recently been announced for the sedan.

That price tag listed above includes the vehicle’s $885 destination fee, which places it between the base model and the Limited trim. The base 2017 Elantra carries a starting MSRP of $17,985, while the top-level Elantra Limited features a starting MSRP of $23,185. The main reason the Limited model comes with a higher price tag is because it’s equipped with a more powerful 2.0-liter engine.

The new Elantra Eco comes with a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder motor and a seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission with Shifttronic, which work together to produce 128 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the Environmental Protection Agency has estimated the new Eco will yield 35 mpg combined.

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco also comes standard with LED daytime running lights, which flank the audacious hexagonal grille design.

A look inside the 2017 Elantra Eco reveals standard features such a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual automatic temperature control, heated front seats, illuminated vanity mirrors, and a 3.5-inch TFT monochromatic cluster display. Furthermore, the new Eco trim comes with a blind spot detection system with rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist.

The 2017 Elantra Eco is expected to reach US Hyundai dealerships this summer and a new sport model and GT hatchback version are expected to follow.
