In the alternative fuel world, hydrogen fuel-cell technology is the new black—so it’s no surprise that Hyundai has announced a new fuel-cell concept that is set to debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March. The Hyundai Intrado fuel-cell concept will incorporate Hyundai’s next generation hydrogen fuel-cell electric powertrain.

Constructed around a lightweight structure, the Intrado will potentially change the way car manufacturers assemble cars. It will be significantly smaller and lighter than the company’s current fuel cell car, the 2015 Hyundai Tucson, which is the company’s first production vehicle powered by hydrogen and will be available next spring in Southern California.

With a teaser sketch recently released, the Intrado seems to reflect the underside of an airplane’s wing, after which it is named. Its design might also give the world a preview of Hyundai’s next compact crossover.
