2019 Hyundai Kona pricing style design announcement crossover blue

The Hyundai Kona had a strong debut year in 2018 and has already surpassed the combined monthly sales of the Accent, Ioniq, and Veloster. The stylish urban crossover is a fresh addition to the sedan-heavy Hyundai lineup and exudes an adventurous, outdoorsy persona that breathes new life into Hyundai’s reputation.

Poised for a strong 2019, the Kona begins its sophomore year with a slight price increase. Per the automaker’s recent announcement, 2019 Hyundai Kona pricing starts at $19,990 for the base SE model, an increase of about $400 over the 2018 Kona SE price of $19,500.

Hyundai Kona pricing increases to include more Hyundai SmartSense safety technologies

Hyundai Kona pricing is changing for 2019 to accomodate the addition of new standard Hyundai SmartSense safety technologies that used to only be included at higher trim tiers: Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Driver Attention Warning. The expansion of the availability of these active driver-assist features shows Hyundai’s commitment to making driving safer for all of its customers, even those who stick with the most basic models.

Hyundai listened to the feedback of its first-year buyers and made some other changes. More items added to every Kona include an additional USB charging port in the front console and soft-touch front door armrests/inserts. The Blue Link® Connected Car System, Infinity® Premium Audio with eight speakers including subwoofer, and HomeLink® and Compass are now available at more trim levels. The Kona also bears a new body color: Sunset Orange.

The 2019 Hyundai Kona bears a 2.0-liter four-cylinder as its standard engine, with a 1.6-liter Turbo engine as an upgrade option. Based on the engine, the transmission is either the standard six-speed automatic SHIFTRONIC® or seven-speed EcoShift Dual-Clutch. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are both options.
