Hyundai Achieves 10 Million Sales in America

At the conclusion of October 2015, Hyundai sold its 10 millionth vehicle in the United States. This milestone has been in the works since Hyundai began selling the subcompact Excel in America in 1986, expanding its lineup significantly in the past ten years. The two highest selling models have been the Sonata (24.98%) and Elantra (24.85%).

“Today serves as a testament to the design, quality and value of Hyundai’s product portfolio. The American car market continues to be on the rise, with more than 17 million new car sales expected in 2015,” said Derrick Hatami, vice president of national sales for Hyundai Motor America. “Hyundai is well positioned for continued growth in this market, offering consumers a variety of vehicles that meet their needs.”

Two of the biggest indicators of Hyundai’s success over the past decades are its huge Alabama factory and its famous warranty program.

That achievement was made in part due to a successful October, with sales up 20% last month compared to October 2014. This year’s campaign advertising the redesigned 2016 Tucson has certainly made a difference, increasing October sales of the crossover 103% over last year. Sales of the Accent, Sonata, Elantra, Veloster, and Santa Fe also increased.

“The strong demand for crossovers continued during this month with the all-new Tucson more than doubling its sales compared to last October,” said Derrick Hatami, vice president of national sales for Hyundai Motor America. “With our Tucson, Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport models, Hyundai provides a very competitive CUV lineup that meets the needs of most consumers.”

Hyundai’s production of the brand new Santa Cruz will no doubt continue to grow the lineup’s success.
