The 2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid was one of the major contributors to Hyundai’s successful sales month.

Across the globe, Hyundai Motor Company has been on an unprecedented roll. After reporting best-ever sales figures in April and May of this year, the Korean auto manufacturer continued to build momentum in summer 2014 with its explosive debut of the blockbuster Hyundai Elite i20 and the buzz around the Hyundai Genesis.

Hyundai Sales Report: August 2014

Having just reported its best July sales ever, Hyundai is following up its summer success with another stellar month: an all-time sales record of 70,003 units.

In the midst of monthly financial reports hitting the web today, all confirming that the automotive industry continues to power back from the past recession, Hyundai announces that August 2014 was the brand’s second-best sales month ever– only the second time the company surpassed 70,000 units.

“Sales continued to gain momentum as the month progressed and we finished the Labor Day holiday weekend strong,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America. “The all-new Sonata, Genesis and our CUVs played a big role in helping us score a record August.”

The biggest total contributor to Hyundai’s success, the redesigned Hyundai Sonata, had sales figures 25% higher than they were a year ago. Better still, the Hyundai’s Tucson showed sales up 30%, a much-needed jolt of success for the SUV.

With the final sales figures below, there’s enough evidence to confirm that Hyundai’s stellar year is establishing the manufacturer as a worldwide automotive powerhouse. With the 2015 models rolling out, that success will only increase.

At this rate, Hyundai has its eyes on sealing its position as one of the top three worldwide automotive giants.
