Hyundai SEMA News: BTR Edition Elantra Sport Not to Be Missed
Hyundai’s vehicles normally blend into the market of affordable, conventional economy-class cars, but many of its models possess aggressive, athletic personas that lie just below the paint. All it takes is some skilled after-market modifying to bring those attitudes and capabilities to the surface.
The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas is the perfect venue to see what Hyundai’s vehicles are capable of in the right hands, which is why the Korean automaker has had a recurring presence at the event in the past.
Among this year’s lineup for SEMA 2017, Hyundai is showcasing a devilish version of the Elantra Sport courtesy of Blood Type Racing (BTR).

Spotlight on the BTR Edition of the Hyundai Elantra Sport at SEMA
Visually, this bright orange, one-of-a-kind Elantra has received a major overhaul, adding a re-stitched OEM-style sport interior, BASF Glasurit Arancio Borealis paint, APR GTC-200 GT wing, Diode Dynamics custom headlights and LED interior lighting, and more.
The modifications go beyond mere cosmetics, though, as the BTR Edition Elantra Sport concept also received performance enhancements like Torcon CAI intake and Pierce Motorsports exhaust system, Devil’s Own water/methanol injection system, Pierce Motorsports sway bars/strut tower brace/chassis brace, Fella Big Brake kit, engine management custom ECU Tuning by BTR, and more.
“The BTR Edition Elantra Sport takes the Elantra beyond its capable OEM-development roots without sacrificing daily drivability,” said Sam Lee, product manager of Blood Type Racing. “Building upon the well-developed Elantra Sport platform, powertrain and design fundamentals, we’ve given enthusiasts a new vision of where this affordable sport compact wants to go.”
