Iggy Azalea’s Furious 7 Cameo

Last year, Vin Diesel (left) hinted at Iggy Azalea’s (right) Furious 7 cameo, but he did not indicate just how small it would be

Last year, Fast and Furious franchise star Vin Diesel let it slip that pop singer Iggy Azalea, famous for her song “Fancy,” would be making a special appearance in Furious 7, which hit theatres last Friday and had an explosive opening weekend at the box office. But until we actually got to plant our butts in some sticky movie theatre seats and see the film, we had no idea just how big Iggy Azalea’s Furious 7 cameo would be.

The answer? Not very.

The pop star appears near the very beginning of the film during a scene involving Diesel (who plays Dom Toretto) and Michelle Rodriquez (who plays Letty Ortiz). In the scene, Dom takes Letty to a racetrack to help her regain her memories. After a fast race, Iggy Azalea appears among a crowd of fans to say, “Hey. There’s the girl I’ve heard so much about. Where you been at, ghost girl?”

And that’s it.

Given the small and seemingly unnecessary screen time given to the pop star, it’s unlikely that her cameo will develop into anything more in the franchise’s future, as Ludacris’ did following his appearance in 2 Fast 2 Furious back in 2003.

Furious 7, which stars Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, is in theatres now.
