Images of New Presidential Limo Have Been Taken by Spy Photographers

Spy photos show that Cadillac is developing a new presidential limo that looks similar to its Escalade SUV

While General Motors has yet to acknowledge that it’s in the process of developing the next presidential limousine, photographers have captured images of the new bomb-proof Cadillac limo while it was out testing recently at GM’s Proving Ground in Milford, Michigan.

While the new limo still follows the old formula of having a sedan-like body constructed on top of a strong truck chassis, the styling of this new presidential limo is much different from the current version. While President Obama’s limo has a front fascia that resembles the discontinued Cadillac STS, the vehicle that GM was caught testing has a front end that resembles the current Cadillac Escalade SUV.

As you can see in the image above, the new Cadillac Limo will feature a bolder grille design, which includes the luxury automaker’s wreathless crest badge. In addition, LED headlights will be featured on the front end, while any signs of an antenna have been removed in favor of small rear tailfins.

As always, the presidential limousine will be bullet-proof, bomb-proof, and will come with a whole bunch of other advanced technology the government won’t disclose to the general public.

Fox News reported that GM was awarded more than $15 million in government contracts that were probably meant to aid the automaker in developing the limousine. Furthermore, Fox News also reported that GM will likely build 12 of these advanced limos.

The President of the United States has been riding in a Cadillac Limo since Woodrow Wilson first rode in one back in 1919. The current model, which transports President Obama, goes by nickname of the “Beast” and has been in service since 2009.

It’s currently unclear if the new presidential limousine will be completed by Jan. 20, 2017, which will be the day that Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton, Gary Johnson, or Jill Stein will be sworn into office.
