Impala Sales See Tremendous Growth
In recent years, Chevrolet has struggled to get the American public to see the Impala as more than just a rental car, to little avail. That is, until the 2014 model rolled off production lines. The completely redesigned model kept what drivers loved about the Impala sedan, ditched what they didn’t, and added something completely fresh. Because of such dramatic innovation, Impala sales have been skyrocketing.
In fact, the 2014 Chevy Impala has managed to gain an impressive 8 percentage points of retail market share since it hit dealerships last year. The Impala now accounts for 14.7 percent of the market, whereas last year it claimed only 6.9 percent.
In total, Impala sales saw year-over-year growth of 113 percent, and the sedan was the only model in its class that saw a positive gain in average transaction prices.
“The Impala is an example of everything that customers can continue to expect from Chevrolet products,” said Steve Majoros, marketing director of Chevrolet cars and crossovers. “We’re building the best vehicles in our history. If you’ve never visited a Chevrolet dealership before, now is the time.”
The Impala has the awards to back up its high sales figures. Cars.com named the sedan the Best Car of 2014, and KBB.com named it to the 12 Best Family Cars List.
