In-Car Toilet

This in-car toilet means shady gas station stops are a thing of the past

If you’ve ever been on a road trip, you know that small bladders and long car rides just don’t mix. Typically it means stopping at a rest area or a creepy gas station every two hours or so. But what if you never had to stop for a bathroom break on a road trip ever again? Sounds like a wonderful dream, right?

Well, that dream just might come true sometime soon.

Earlier this month, a patent was filed at the United States Patent and Trademark Office showing an in-car toilet, also described as “porter potty” seating in the official documents.

How poop-tastic is that?

The patent, which was filed by Danisha Lashune Taylor of Lancaster, California, details “a portable vehicular adult and child potty seat with ease-of-excretion enhancement during a journey.” Basically, the in-car toilet is a removable (fortunately) pot that has a variety of detachable components, including an automatic lid, a cushioned seat, automatic flush, a liquid storage tank, a disposable collecting bag, and a drain module.

And you thought the Honda Odyssey’s in-car vacuum was cool.

Taylor’s patent claims that the in-car toilet is cost-effective and easily maintained thanks to its simple parts. Really, this invention has made road trips that much easier—and potentially a lot stinkier.

What do you think of this in-car toilet?
