Infiniti Q80 Inspiration Concept

The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration Concept was first revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, almost 17 months ago. Meant to display the future of the brand, the concept has just received another award for its design. The iF Design Awards are meant to honor the best in design from around the world and across multiple industries. This year, Infiniti and the Q80 Inspiration Concept were given the award in the “Professional Concept” category.

Reportedly, the judges were impressed by the concept car’s powerful lines, fastback style, and exterior proportions. In the category, more than 5,295 entries were submitted from 53 nations. The entries were then judged by a panel of 58 international jurists and announced during Munich Creative Business Week.

It’s easy to see elements of the Infiniti Q80 Inspiration concept in cars Infiniti is preparing for production. While the 2016 Infiniti QX60 sits higher from the ground than the concept car, the essential hood and headlight shapes are clearly derived from the Q80 Inspiration.

Infiniti’s Executive Design Director Alfonso Albaisa said, “The Q80 Inspiration’s combination of power and elegance set future design cues that are now surfacing in recently launched models such as the Q30 and Q60. The award by iF Design is the seal of outstanding design quality, and we are delighted that our talented design team have been given this accolade.”
