Isuzu Makes KB 250 X-Rider Newest Addition to Pickup Lineup
The Isuzu KB X-Rider was a big hit with off-road enthusiasts in South Africa last year when it was released in a limited production run, so much so that the brand has decided to bring it back as the newest variant of the KB 250 Hi-Rider Double Cab.
The Isuzu KB is offered in 19 different trims and three body styles, starting with the Isuzu KB 250 Base Single Cab—available for R 236,500—and going all the way up to the range-topping Isuzu KB 300 4×4 Double Cab LX with cloth interior and automatic transmission, available starting at R 550,100. But those who love to stand out whether on- or off-road are likely to lean toward the capable, handsome-looking X-Rider.
“The X-Rider isn’t just about purposeful and head-turning looks; it’ll deliver when called on to do so,” said Mlungisi Nkonyana, Isuzu Brand Manager.

Starting at R 388,400, the X-Rider represents an ideal synthesis of performance, style, and comfort. The X-Rider is offered with a high-output 2.5-liter common rail direct injection turbodiesel that delivers peak torque at 1,800 rpm and a standard heavy-duty tow bar for a 2.1-ton braked trailer towing capacity.
On the outside, it is distinguished by diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels with red Isuzu-badged center caps wrapped in 255/50 Grabber AT tires, black bumper guard with integrated fog lamps, decaled black tubular side steps and sports bar, and blacked-out B-pillars. The X-Rider is offered in your choice of three colors: Summit White, Switchblade Silver, or the boldly-titled Pull Me Over Red.
The inside of the X-Rider is surprisingly luxurious with leather upholstery, steering wheel, and shifter with red contrast stitching; embroidered front headrests and door trims; and Piano Black-trimmed air vents, radio, front console, and door trim. Other amenities include remote keyless entry, steering wheel-mounted controls, and projector headlamps with DRL.
