J.D Power Awards 2014 Soul an APEAL Award for Third Year Running

J.D. Power & Associates recently awarded the 2014 Soul an APEAL Award for the third year in a row. APEAL stands for Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout, and is thus given to models whose customers are satisfied with their vehicle’s performance, execution, and layout (go figure). In total, there are ten categories into which the results are divided: audio, driving dynamics, exterior, fuel economy, heating and ventilation, interior, powertrain, seats, storage, and visibility. The Soul claimed the number one spot—and thus the award—in the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment.

“Since launching in 2009, the Soul has earned a devoted following thanks to its unique blend of attitude, style, technology and value,” commented Michael Sprague, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Kia Motors America. “Now in its second iteration, the iconic Soul remains true to its roots while adding refinement both inside and out. Taking top honors in its segment for the third year in a row in the J.D. Power APEAL study is further verification that the Soul just keeps getting better.”

The Kia Soul is on fire for 2014. By the end of June, Kia had moved just one unit shy of 75,000 Souls. But July was also a successful month for Kia—check out the numbers for yourself.
