January 2014 Buick Regal Sales Impressive Thanks to All-Wheel-Drive Availability

February is nearing an end, and Buick is optimistic that monthly sales figures will continue to improve after impressive January numbers. Perhaps the most impressive performance came from January 2014 Buick Regal sales figures, which saw the AWD-equipped sedan leap 35 percent in retail sales and 43 percent overall.

The new Regal was likely popular among sedan shoppers due to its available all-wheel-drive system, whose limited-slip rear differential makes considerably easier the task of driving in snowy conditions. Given that many regions in the Northeast United States experienced record snowfall, it’s no wonder that the Regal AWD accounted for more than a quarter of all Regal sales.

“Many consumers will only consider a vehicle with AWD,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing, in the brand’s press release. “We’ve listened to our customers and delivered an AWD Regal that not only gives them a vehicle for inclement conditions, but one that adds confidence and fun no matter what the weather.”

The AWD configuration, which is available on 2.0L Turbo and GS models, accounted for 18 percent of all January 2014 Buick Regal sales. January’s growth means the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year growth since the new model launched.
