Jeep and NBCUniversal Launch #RenegadeLifeContest
Jeep’s new #RenegadeLifeContest launched on Sunday, February 8th, and will continue through March 2nd. The all-new social media campaign, which extends to Twitter and Instagram (both of which are breeding grounds for hashtags), marks new collaboration between Jeep and NBCUniversal. As such, NBCUniversal channels, including Bravo, E!, NBC, and Syfy, will be airing network-specific call-to-action spots centered on the Renegade.
These spots will ask viewers to take photos that display their “Renegade spirit” and to post them to the aforementioned social media spots using the hashtag #RenegadeLifeContest. These photos could possibly be used in future commercial spots for the Renegade, but the real prize is even grander. Three lucky winners will be chosen among all entrants. Jeep will fly these three winners out to the iHeartRadio Music Awards (March 29th), where they will film a custom Jeep Renegade spot (produced by NBCUniversal, of course), which will air during the awards.
But the best part? All three winners will receive brand new 2015 Jeep Renegades.
“As the excitement and anticipation for the launch of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade builds momentum, we strive to bring consumers something fresh and different. We know that our Millennial audience looks to multiple engagement platforms for their consumption to include television, music and social media channels, to discover what’s new and share this content. Through this partnership, we’re able to offer this group the opportunity to learn more about our vehicle through channels in which they are familiar,” explained head of Jeep Brand Advertising, Kim Adams House, who is apparently a very winded person. “NBCUniversal’s portfolio of networks allows us to authentically interact with some of its most socially engaged audiences, giving our fans the opportunity to share their own unique ‘Renegade’ spirit and passion for the Jeep brand.”
Of course, Jeep and NBCUniversal aren’t the only big companies looking to profit from a bunch of hopeful Americans hashtagging their way to success. There’s something in it for iHeartRadio as well. Jeep will be presenting a sponsored “Renegade” award at the show this year. (We know, the award name is so inspired.) Artists up for the “Renegade” award include Brantley Gilbert, Charli XCX, Hozier, Iggy Azalea, and Meghan Trainor.
The iHeart Music Awards show will air on NBC on Sunday, March 29th, from 8:00pm – 11:00pm EST.
