Jeep managed to sweep sales in Canada last month

The Jeep brand is currently struggling a bit in terms of stateside sales. Meanwhile in Canada, Jeep found quite a bit of success with our neighbors to the north last month.

In fact, Jeep just achieved its most successful Canadian sales month ever in the brand’s history.

In July, Jeep sold 9,842 units. This is not only the highest number of Canadian sales for Jeep in the span of one month; it’s also a 36% improvement compared to July of last year.

Leading the charge with the highest number of sales in July was the Jeep Cherokee. Jeep sold 3,689 units of this model, a 35% sales increase when compared to last July.

The best improvement came from the brand-new Jeep Compass. The newest Compass model took sales from 215 units in July of 2016 to 1,039 units in July of 2017.

While July was undoubtedly a success story of Jeep in Canada, in regards to year-to-date sales, the brand still has some catching up to do. Right now, Jeep’s year-to-date sales are down 16%, though last month did do a lot to help combat sales losses.

The Ram brand of trucks is still doing well in Canada. Despite a sales loss of 9% last month, the brand’s year-to-date sales are up 13%.

As for the Chrysler brand, Canadian drivers seem to be turning away from sedans, too. Sales for the Chrysler 200 and Chrysler 300 were down 97% and 82%, respectively.

The Chrysler brand’s sales in July were down 61% when compared to the brand’s sales performance in Canada last July. Still, year-to-date sales are only down 9% despite a less-than-stellar sales month in July.
