Here’s hoping that Jeep reveals the Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat at the 2016 New York Auto Show

The New York Auto Show is coming up in next week, and Jeep has something major planned. Problem is, no one’s not sure exactly what—but I know I’m hoping it’s the Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat.

According to Mike Manley, Jeep’s CEO, the American brand will offer a 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat Jeep Grand Cherokee before the end of 2017. Though we’re still at the beginning of 2016, I still have hope that we get a taste of this delicious piece of Jeep sooner rather than later.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat is expected to take the 6.2-liter HEMI supercharged engine typically seen in the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat and give it a nice Jeep twist. With this mechanical masterpiece under its hood, the Grand Cherokee will become the fastest accelerating SUV in the world, offering an outstanding 0-to-60 time in the mid-3-seconds range.

So really—here’s hoping that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat is the exact product Jeep is planning to reveal in a week’s time.

One thing we do know, however, is that the product debut will not be Jeep’s replacement for the Compass and Patriot. Rather than revealing this new compact SUV at the 2016 New York Auto Show, the brand will reveal it during the fourth quarter this year in Brazil.

Jeep has announced its official timeslot for the big New York Auto Show reveal. On Wednesday, March 23rd from 3:20 pm (EDT) to 3:45 pm, the Jeep Brand will debut its newest product. If you can’t be at the New York Auto Show like we’re going to be, then you can catch this reveal via a live stream here. Jeep is also offering an on-demand replay of the event after the live event is finished.
