2015 Jeep Renegade wins Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year at 21st Annual Mudfest

When it comes to the Northwest Automotive Press Association’s (NWAPA) yearly Mudfest, nothing can top Jeep and Ram. In fact, at the 21st annual Mudfest, Jeep and Ram vehicles won every category they were entered into. And, to top it off, the 2015 Jeep Renegade was the overall winner, named the Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year by the automotive journalists who make up NWAPA.

In addition to winning the overall award, the 2015 Jeep Renegade took home top honors in the Compact Utility class. Fellow Jeep vehicle, Cherokee, won in the Family Utility division. Meanwhile, the 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel landed at the top in the Pickup category, and the 2015 Ram Power Wagon earned recognition as the best in the Extreme Capability class.

“Following two days of extensive testing, I think it’s clear that Jeep has something special with the new Renegade Trailhawk,” commented Ryan Douthit, who co-chaired the event. “Don’t let its size fool you: this is one capable little machine. Even though it did extremely well in our sealed-surface slalom and braking tests, it was the smallest Jeep’s remarkable off-road abilities that really impressed our members.”

Nik Miles, president of NWAPA, added, “This annual competition sets the bar for outdoor activity vehicle buyers in not only the Northwest, but the entire country. The journalists push vehicles to their limits; this competition is not for the meek and faint of heart. FCA came to the table ready for a tough fight and they played rough and tough, driving away with a trunk full of trophies.”

There were only two other categories with awards: premium compact utility and premium standard utility, but FCA brands were not entered into those.
