A mere month after setting a sales record for the Wrangler, Jeep surpassed that benchmark, making April the Wrangler's new best sales month ever

It didn’t take long for the Wrangler to break its own sales record

During March, Jeep made history by selling 27,829 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. That made March the Wrangler’s best month of sales ever.

Nevertheless, it didn’t take long for Jeep to surpass that sales record. In fact, the automakers sold 29,776 Wrangler vehicles last month, making April the Wrangler’s new best sales month.

Wrangler sales were up by 58% during April. So far this year, Jeep has sold a total of 85,280 Jeep Wranglers.

Compared to the 60,152 units sold during the first four months of 2017, Jeep Wrangler sales are experiencing a year-to-date sales increase of 42%. Jeep’s recent redesign for the Wrangler is evidently paying off in a big way.

The redesigned Jeep Compass is more than making up sales for the two models it replaces

Of course, the Wrangler wasn’t the only Jeep model to experience some impressive sales increases. Jeep Compass sales were up by 227% last month, with a total of 11,521 units sold.

The year-to-date sales for the Jeep Compass are even more impressive. So far this year, Jeep has sold a total of 55,041 Compass vehicles, a sales increase of 356% compared to the 12,072 Compass vehicles sold during the first four months of 2017.

The Cherokee managed to best its big brother last month

The Jeep Cherokee actually managed to outsell the Grand Cherokee during April. Jeep sold a total of 16,887 Cherokee models last month, accounting for a sales increase of 20%.

Meanwhile, Jeep sold 16,647 Grand Cherokee vehicles during the same selling period. Jeep Grand Cherokee sales were down by 12%.

The Grand Cherokee is still outselling the Cherokee so far this year, with sales number of 70,095 and 67,497 units, respectively. Still, Cherokee sales are up by 23% year-over-year, while Grand Cherokee sales are down by 7%.

Could sales for the Jeep Grand Cherokee potentially be losing steam?

Rounding off Jeep’s lineup is the Renegade. Jeep Renegade sales were down by 10% in April, with a total of 7,735 units sold.

Altogether, Jeep sold a total of 82,641 vehicles last month. Compared to the 68,879 vehicles sold during April of 2017, this accounts for a 20% sales increase.

Year-to-date, Jeep sales are experiencing a similar increase. With a total of 310,746 units sold, Jeep sales have increased by 21% so far this year.
