Jimmie Johnson has already won four races this season and he’s looking to add to that total this Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.

Johnson, a six-time Sprint Cup Series champion, picked up his first career win at Michigan last June in his No. 48 Chevrolet. Johnson’s team also received good news this week. Their penalty was rescinded for illegal modifications made to their racecar. If the penalty had not been rescinded, he would have been the last driver to select his pit stall, which is like getting that parking spot at work nobody wants because of how inconvenient it is.

To get his fifth win of this season, Johnson will have to beat fellow Chevrolet driver Martin Truex Jr.. Truex won last week’s race at Pocono Raceway and has finished in the top-10 every race this season, except for one.

So far this season, ten drivers have locked themselves in for a spot in the playoffs by virtue of winning a race. Popular drivers yet to win a race this season include both Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart. The two legendary divers own seven Sprint Cup Series championships between them.

Michigan is one of the fastest tracks on the NASCAR circuit with speeds regularly reaching more than 200 mph. NASCAR first began visiting Michigan’s 2-mile oval in 1969.

The race begins at 1 pm this Sunday, June 14th, and will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
