John Casesa Named Ford Group VP, Global Strategy

Ford has announced that is has appointed John Casesa, a career auto analyst and investment banker, to the position of group vice president of Global Strategy. Effective March 1st, Casesa will lead Ford’s business wing and build upon preexisting business strategies to enhance the company’s profits in the future.

“Ford is a growth company in a dramatically growing global industry. It is more important than ever that we operate with a focus on delivering today’s business and an equal focus on anticipating and meeting the needs of customers five, 10 and 15 years down the road,” said Ford CEO Mark Fields, to whom Casesa will report.

“John knows business and the auto industry inside and out. His deep experience and relationships will help guide and shape our global strategies—particularly as we challenge today’s business model and push to innovate to make us even stronger tomorrow.”

Casesa was previously the senior managing director of Guggenheim Partners since 2010. Before that, he spent almost 20 years as one of Merrill Lynch’s top automotive analysts, and he also served as a product planning analyst for GM. We also co-authored the World Resources Institute’s “Energy Security & Climate Change” report from 2005.
