June Mercedes-Benz sales in the United States were the best in company history with volume of 29,380 units. The Mercedes-Benz brand accounted for 26,506 of those sales, which in itself was an 8.6 year-over-year increase.

Further, Mercedes-Benz’s half-year sales figure sits at 151,624 units, and cumulative sales of the Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter, and smart brands bring to six month year-to-date total to 167,754. Both are record totals.

“We’re breaking records through June, hitting the best second-quarter finish in our history with four new launches still ahead,” said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “In just two weeks, we’ll start with the launch of our first ‘Electric Mercedes,’ the B-Class Electric Drive.”

For the Mercedes-Benz brand, the E-, C-, and M-Class vehicles remain the volume leaders with sales of 6,500 units, 5,607 units, and 3,891 units respectively. The E-Class continues its roll by posting a 25 year-over-year increase while bringing its year-to-date jump up to 22.5 percent.

After more than doubling its June 2013 sales, the S-Class sits 80.8 percent ahead of its pace through the first six months of last year. The S-Class has now hit nine straight months of year-over-year sales gains and stands to set sales records by year’s end.
