Keselowski grabbed yet another pole on Friday, this time for Sunday’s Sylvania 300 Chase for the Sprint Cup race

Somebody might want to tell Brad Keselowski that he’s already secured his spot in the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, because he’s still racing out of his absolute mind. Keselowski won his second straight pole on Friday, winning the lead position for tomorrow’s Sylvania 300 Chase for the Sprint Cup race by setting a New Hampshire Motor Speedway speed record of 140.598 miles per hour.

It goes without saying that Keselowski is on fire right now after winning last week’s Chase opener at Chicagoland Speedway. Despite being on a two-race winning streak, Keselowski doesn’t seem to think he has any greater chance of winning the title than anyone else in the field.

“We’re so early in this thing and with the resets that there are the success of today really means nothing come Homestead.  Each bracket with each reset it looks like an NCAA bracket.  In that sense to compare it, it would be like if a great NCAA team beat a lower ranked team it doesn’t really matter when you get to the next round.  It’s great,” Keselowski said.

“It’s positive momentum and everything you want to do and think you should do, but when it resets it resets and nothing that you’ve done in the past really matters as long as you’re eligible for the bracket,” he added. “I’m a long, long ways from using the word favorite or feeling overly confident.”
