Or, to rephrase that headline so that it has less alliteration, Kia has announced that key dealerships in California are receiving special charging stations that will make recharging easier for owners of the new 2015 Kia Soul EV.

Kia is partnering with Greenlots to outfit select dealerships in the golden state with multiple Level 2 240v chargers and ABB’s 50kW Terra 53 CJ DC fast charger, which is able to juice up the Soul EV’s battery from empty to 80 percent in just 33 minutes. Kia isn’t saying which dealerships will be selected, but the company’s addition of 17 new DC fast chargers to California’s current network of 198 will bring the state’s total up to 215 DC fast chargers.

The chargers, although no doubt convenient, won’t be free like Tesla’s expanding Supercharger network or the “No Charge to Charge” two-year program that Nissan is offering LEAF owners. Kia will determine their own pricing model, details of which have yet to be released.

Orth Hedrick, the vice president of product planning for Kia Motors America, said in a statement, “The Soul EV is a key vehicle within Kia’s ‘Clean Mobility’ program, and having access to Level 2 and an increased number of DC fast chargers at select Kia dealerships is an opportunity for us to provide value to Soul EV owners, signaling Kia’s commitment to the growing EV market. Our customers are making a sincere effort to be eco-conscious, and Kia is committed to delivering both flexible and convenient charging options to Soul EV owners.”
