The year 2013 was a big year for the automotive industry, with very nearly 16 million vehicles sold and optimism soaring at levels not seen since before the recession.  One of the industry’s benefactors and contributors was none other than Kia Motors America, who recently announced that 2013 saw the second-best year of sales in the carmaker’s history. With 535,179 vehicles sold in a single year, seven all-new or redesigned vehicles introduced to their lineup, and record-setting November sales, Kia hit the ball out of the park in 2013.

The strength of Kia 2013 sales fell to the backbone of their model lineup: for the second year in a row, the Kia Optima remained the brand’s best-seller with a total of 155,893 units sold. This set an all-time single nameplate sales record for the company. The Kia Soul also surpassed the 118,000-unit mark after the introduction of the all-new, second-generation model in the fourth quarter.
