Kia hopes that a new engine and other updates will improve sales of the K900 sedan

The 2016 Kia K900 was supposed to be the South Korean automobile manufacture’s new flagship sedan, but with low sales of only 2,134 cars, Kia decided changes needed to be made.

The biggest change coming for the 2016 model is the addition of a 311 hp 3.8-liter V6 engine, which will come loaded inside the K900’s entry-level model. The new V6 will come matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission and is expected to yield fuel economy of 20 mpg combined. If you’re in need of more power, the K900 will still be offered with its formidable 5.0-liter V8 engine good for 420 horsepower.

Additional changes for the 2016 Kia K900 include a redesigned grille, taillights, exhaust pipes, and bumper. Small design changes will also be made to the rear of the sedan.

The three trim levels of the 2016 Kia K900 are V6 Premium, V6 Luxury, and V8 Luxury. Standard features will include a panoramic sunroof, leather trim, and a navigation system. Furthermore, 18-inch wheels will come equipped on sedans with a V6 and 19-inch wheels will be featured on the V8 luxury model.

A smart lid trunk and an autonomous braking system will also be available with the updated K900.

Kia has yet to announce official pricing for the 2016 K900.
