Kia Donates to High-Need Schools

Kia is empowering teachers in high-need schools with its Teacher Appreciation Road Tour

Kia understands the importance of education, which is why the Korean carmaker has formed its most important partnership yet—with DonorsChoose.org. Through this partnership, Kia is hosting a series of teacher appreciation events and hands-on project funding workshops to empower teachers of high-need schools.

This program is looking to build on the success of Kia’s previous teacher-appreciation campaign. These campaigns have raised over $7 million, benefiting more than 1.5 million students across American since 2012. The Kia “Holidays on Us” Road Tour will offer more than $500,000 of flash funding to eligible projects in San Diego, Phoenix, and Tucson.

“Kia and our dealers are dedicated to helping DonorsChoose.org meet its five-year goal and continue making a positive and lasting difference for students and teachers in need,” said Tim Chaney, vice president of marketing communications for Kia Motors America. “We encourage people to visit DonorsChoose.org/Kia to learn how they can make a difference for as little as $1.”

Events to show teacher appreciation will be held December 7th in the San Diego-area at El Cajon Kia. Teachers in the Phoenix area can attend the event on December 9th at Mark Kia, while teachers in the Tucson area can stop by Royal Kia on December 11th.

Along with these events, teachers can attend best-practices funding workshops on December 6th in the San-Diego-area at the Sheraton Mission Valley San Diego and on December 8th in the Phoenix area at the Clarendon Hotel.
