The 2017 Kia Sportage saw a sales increase of over 76%, which helped Kia post its best-ever half-year sales performance

June was one heck of a month for Kia. Not only was the South Korean carmaker named the top-ranking brand in JD Power’s 2016 Initial Quality Study (IQS) out of all 33 carmakers in the United States, but it has also reported an outstanding June sales’ increase.

For the month of June, Kia Motors America reported a 15.6% increase over June of 2015 with a total of 62,572 vehicles sold. This sales report marks the greatest quarter and half-year performances in company history.

“No auto brand has experienced greater growth over the last 20 years than Kia, and JD Power’s IQS announcement boosted our momentum with huge increases in online and showroom traffic,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP for Kia Motors America. “By every measure, the ‘New Kia’ is an elite automaker and one of the industry’s greatest success stories.”

There’s no doubt that Kia is currently on the up-and-up. Out of the nine models included in the South Korean carmaker’s lineup, six saw drastic increases in their June sales compared to last year. The Rio, Forte, and Sorento each saw significant increases that signify just how popular these three vehicles are in the new model year.

In terms of sales, though, the Sportage had the most significant increase in sales. This compact crossover boasted a 76.3% year-over-year increase, which is the best-ever single month total for the Sportage ever. This increase comes as no surprise, since Kia recently introduced the handsome 2017 Kia Sportage, which is significantly helping out sales.
