Kia and Make-A-Wish Partner for FIFA World Cup
Kia is the official partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and has plenty in store for football (soccer) fans worldwide. For instance, Kia and Make-A-Wish International® foundation have teamed up to bring joy to five deserving young football fans. Before reaching out to these five lucky winners, however, Kia also donated $100,000 to the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Last month, Kia and Make-A-Wish surprised the five lucky young fans with the news that they will be attending this year’s World Cup and will be accompanying the World Cup mascot, Fuleco the Armadilla, as Kia Mascot Friends, which entails running onto the pitch at half-time, beginning with a group stage match on June 23rd through a semi-final match on July 8th.
The five children include Aidan (14, from Australia), Fausto (11, from Mexico), Bruno (11, from Brazil), Nathan (10, from Brazil), and Yuri (9, from Brazil), all of whom are incredibly big football fans.
The video below shows Aidan’s reaction when Kia and Make-A-Wish paid him a visit during football practice near Sydney, Australia. Aidan has battled cystic fibrosis since birth and loves football dearly; it has always been his greatest wish to attend the World Cup. Now he’s got his chance. And who knows, maybe he’ll go back someday—as a player.
