Kia Motors Extends Partnership Contract with England Women’s Cricket
Kia Motors is making a splash in the world of English women’s cricket. The carmaker recently renewed its partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This new contract will last another two years, until May 2018, and comes after Kia became the first-ever standalone sponsor of women’s crick in the nation two years ago.

But Kia isn’t just the partner of the England women’s cricket league. The South Korean carmaker is also awarding a brand-new 2017 Sportage SUV to all of England’s contracted players. It even plans to increase the amount money it invests into the game for England, hopefully allowing for the development of the women’s cricket sport.
“It is great news that the partnership will continue for a further two years,” said Clare Connor, ECB director of England women’s cricket. “Since signing the first-ever standalone sponsorship for England women’s cricket in 2014, Kia’s partnership has supported the players’ new professional status, furthered the profile of the game, and proved the commercial credibility of women’s cricket and women’s sport.”

Kia Motor’s UK chief executive Paul Philpott went on to state, “We are delighted to continue to partner with the England women’s cricket team. It is a real privelege for us to e as involved with the development of the women’s game as we are, and to share our real desire to surprise the cynics and change perceptions.”
The renewed contract between Kia and the women’s cricket league comes just ahead of the launch of a six-team Women’s Super League later this year. The title sponsorship of this brand-new competition will go to Kia. The competition features six franchises across England and will expand to include a 50-over tournament after 2017.
