Kia Motors Reports June Certified Pre-Owned Sales as Best-Ever

Two models in Kia’s lineup, the Forte and Sportage, helped boost the automaker’s Certified Pre-Owned sales to its highest number ever. In June, Kia posted a 13.2 percent increase of CPO vehicles compared to last year’s record in June. Overall, 39,954 CPO vehicles were sold during the first half of 2018.

“Kia’s CPO Program is among the best in the industry, offering coverage terms and benefits that resonate with value-oriented shoppers,” said Karl Brauer, executive publisher of Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader. “Now roll in the advanced features and appealing style found across the Kia model line and you’ve got a recipe for sales growth and customer satisfaction.”
Kia Motors America CPO program is particularly stringent. Only vehicles that have operated over less than 60,000 miles and are five years or younger can be considered. Then, the vehicles have to pass a 164-point Quality Assurance inspection. This inspection is conducted by certified Kia technicians.
“Strong sales gains for Sportage and Forte reflect the broad scope and mass appeal of Kia’s world-class model lineup and our CPO program,” said Bill Peffer, vice president, sales operations, KMA. “The program continues to attract new customers to the Kia brand and positively shape perception.”
The 2018 Kia Forte is available at three trim levels: LX, S, and EX. It features a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-vavle I-4 Atkinson Cycle engine paired to either a six-speed manual or electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic®. Bluetooth® wireless technology hands-free connectivity comes standard while smartphone integration is available through Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.

2018 Kia Sportage
The 2018 Kia Sportage is available at three trim levels: LX, EX, and SX Turbo. The available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic® pairing churns out an impressive 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque (FWD) and 237 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque (AWD).
