The debut of the 2016 Kia Optima has helped Kia post its best-ever October sales

Halloween certainly didn’t trick Kia this year. The Korean carmaker recently posted its October sales, and they were definitely a treat. Kia posted a 12% sales increase compared to October of last year, selling a total of 50,044 compared to October 2014’s 44,694.This is Kia’s sixth straight month of setting a new sales record.

“Kia is a challenger brand, and our ability to outpace the industry without the benefit of a truck in our lineup speaks volumes about consumers discovering the new Kia,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Kia Motors America. “With the all-new 2016 Optima arriving in showrooms and the completely redesigned 2017 Sportage making its North American debut at the LA Auto Show this month, this is an exciting time for Kia as we push toward a strong finish to the year.”

Kia’s October sales were led by the Optima and Soul with the Optima sedan selling 14,381 units and the Soul selling 12,246 units. With the new 2016 Optima debuting earlier this year, it’s no wonder it continues to be top in Kia sales. So far, the sedan has sold a total of 132,684 units this year, nearly surpassing 2014 yearly sales with two months left in 2015.

There’s no doubt Kia’s sales will only continue to improve, especially with the upcoming debut of the 2017 Kia Sportage.
