The 2016 Kia Optima is one of the many reasons Kia has increased in sales for ten months in a row

February might seem bleak to some, but for Kia, everything’s coming up roses. The South Korean carmaker recently announced its February sales—and they’re quite impressive.

For the month of February, Kia posted a 13% increase compared to last year’s sales. This is the tenth consecutive month the carmaker has seen an increase, which was led by a multitude of its models, including the Kia Soul utility vehicle and Optima sedan.

“With our Super Bowl ad, Presidents’ Day Sales Event, and prominent role in the NBA All-Star Game, February was a huge month for Kia as we extended our monthly record streak to double digits,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP for Kia Motors America. “Positive economic indicators, low gas prices, and mild weather nationwide also drove consumers into Kia showrooms at a record pace, where they discovered the ‘New Kia’s’ lineup of world-class products.

Leading the way in Kia’s tenth month in a row of sales gains were the Kia Forte compact car, the K900, the Soul, and the Sportage SUV. Each of these vehicles saw a significant increase in their February sales compared to 2015, helping Kia post its best-ever February sales of 49,737.

This increase really comes as no surprise. Over the course of this year, Kia has made some major changes to attract younger millennial buyers to its folds. These changes include spiffy new upgrades to the popular 2016 Kia Optima; an interactive partnership with the NBA; and a plan to introduce its first-ever sports sedan.

Add the fact that both the 2016 Kia Optima and the Sorento were named International Car of the Year Award winners, and it really comes as no surprise that Kia is doing so well.
