Kia is one of the fastest growing major manufacturers. It’s no surprise that the brand is expanding its auto empire into new regions. Just this past April, Kia invested $1.1billion dollars in a partnership with India. It also signed an MoU to build a new manufacturing site in Andhra Pradesh.

To celebrate this new relationship, it is hosting roadshows in August and September to show off its Indian model lineup to local car dealers. The roadshow event included models like the Sorento, Cerato/Forte, Sportage, Stonic, Rio hatchback, Niro Optima, Picanto, and Rio Sedan. Indian locals can expect the brand to release these models in phases, starting with just three at a time.

The roadshow provided a great bridge for Kia to network with local dealers interested in joining forces with the brand. As Mr. Yong S. Kim, Head of Sales & Marketing, Kia Motors India, articulates the value that the brand places on forging ties with local dealers: “India is a unique market and it’s important to Kia that we learn from those who have a deep understanding of local buyers and their needs. Like other regions where Kia already has a presence, we will offer Indian customers the highest levels of satisfaction. Our dealer partners hold the key to achieving this aim.”

Kia’s Indian-model lineup is set to make an appearance at the 2018 Auto Expo. It is predicted that Kia will begin producing and selling vehicles in India during the second part of 2019. We congratulate Kia on this exciting news and look forward to further developments about its India initiative.
