Kia Motors America has announced April 2015 sales figures, with last month’s units sold totaling 53,282 vehicles. That number represents the second-best April total in the Korean automaker’s history, and an overall 4.1% sales increase in year-to-date sales.

All but three of the vehicles in Kia’s lineup were actually down last month in comparison to their April of 2014 sales results, but the exponential gains of the new Sedona, which sold 3,393 units (compared to just 625 sales in April of last year), more than made up for the deficit. The other two Kia models to enjoy year-over-year sales increases were the Sportage (4,273 sales last month versus 3,530 in April 2014) and the Sorento (9,808 sales versus 8,536 sales).

“The all-new Sorento is Kia’s most capable and refined CUV ever, and its early-2015 launch has aligned perfectly with the incredible rise in crossover demand,” said Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and EVP of KMA. “And after winning Motor Trend’s minivan comparison test, earning a 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and being named to Ward’s 10 Best Interiors List, sales of the completely redesigned Sedona have taken off and are up more than 400 percent year-to-date.”

April was also the first month that the Soul EV began retail deliveries in the state of Georgia, which contributed to the Soul’s 11,418 total sales.

Kia only sold 140 K900 luxury sedans last month, barely more than half of the number of K900s that the brand sold in April 2014. Those stats aren’t looking too good now, LeBron.
