Kia’s Certified Pre-Owned Car Program Reigns as Most Popular Again
A division of Motor Trend Automotive Group, IntelliChoice leads the market in analyzing car value and the cost of owning a vehicle. To determine the winner of the Best Popular Program competition, IntelliChoice, the producer of the “industry’s only independent report card,” assesses “nine essential components to help consumers identify true costs and best values,” according to Kia.
How to: Calculate your car’s value
IntelliChoice’s evaluation categories, which included inspection process comprehensiveness, extended manufacturer warranties, special financing incentives, and used car ownership costs, were applied to 25 manufacturer-backed programs this year. The programs vying for the title of Best Popular Program were then split into two categories, Popular, which had 13 contenders; and Premium, which had 12 contenders.
“As the popularity of CPO increases with consumers, each OEM continues to improve their CPO program to meet the demands of a competitive marketplace. Kia’s efforts of continued refinement to keep their CPO program a few steps ahead of the pack has been acknowledged, resulting in a third consecutive IntelliChoice CPO award,” said Eric Anderson, Director of Data Products, IntelliChoice.
To qualify for KMA’s CPO program, vehicles must pass an extensive 150-point Quality Assurance inspected administered by automotive technicians who are certified by Kia. The vehicles must be no more than five years old and retain an odometer reading of less than 60,000 miles. The vehicles that meet all of the program’s standards are covered by Kia’s 12-month/12,000 mile-Platinum Coverage and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.
