Kia’s Telluride Concept Car Will Blow Your Mind
The Telluride Concept hints at Kia’s future as a brand
Kia seems to be taking a “Go big or go home” philosophy for its future plans—and it certainly doesn’t look like it’s going home anytime soon. The Korean carmaker recently unveiled the highly anticipated Telluride Concept at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), giving consumers a glimpse at Kia’s future.
The Telluride Concept gives Kia’s design language a bit of an overhaul, while also suggesting a possible premium large SUV is in the brand’s future. With three rows of seating, the Telluride can easily fit seven passengers, and offers plenty of state-of-the-art technology to keep them entertained. As we mentioned last week, the SUV’s shape is reminiscent of the Soul’s with a lot more length to it. This modern style is exactly what the SUV segment needs to freshen it up.

Kia has outfitted the Telluride with doors that swing open in opposite directions, easily welcoming passengers into an incredible interior. With black-leather captain’s seats that recline almost flat and are outfitted with fold-away footrests, there’s no denying that this SUV would be perfect for a long road trip. Each of the four seats have Smart Sensors embedded into them to capture a passenger’s vital health information, allowing the car to then display them on the interior door panel screens. The car then processes each passenger’s health data and uses a Light Emitted Rejuvenation system to display a pattern of therapeutic light to improve his or her energy levels.
If that’s not something straight out of the future, we don’t know what is.
Add to the fact that the rear passengers can also control the media they want with Swipe Command, which is a touch-sensitive band mounted on the second-row console, and the Telluride is quite perfect.
While Kia insists that this new ride is purely conceptual, we can’t help but hope it ends up being a production model.
