Ford announced on Monday that Kiersten Robinson has been appointed its Chief Human Resources Officer and group vice president. The appointment will take effect on April 1st; Robinson will report directly to Ford CEO Jim Hackett.

“As we work to become the most trusted mobility company, designing smart vehicles for a smart world, our people and our culture will be the foundation that ensures we deliver for all of our stakeholders,” said Jim Hackett, president and CEO. “Kiersten has proven herself a strong leader for transformational times and I have confidence that progress on modernizing our people systems and culture will accelerate under her watch.”

In the role of Chief HR Officer, Robinson will oversee functions including learning and development, recruiting and talent management, diversity and inclusion, and compensation and benefits. Prior to this appointment, Robinson had been serving as Ford’s interim Human Resources leader, a role that she had filled since November of last year. She was named Ford’s head of human resources for The Americas in 2016, and that role was expanded in early 2017 to encompass Global Markets.

Robinson has more than 23 years’ experience in human resources, and her past duties have seen her serving major global markets including Europe and Asia Pacific. Her career with Ford goes back to 1995 when she took on the role of labor relations rep for Ford of Australia. Her stock in the company continued to rise as she picked up additional responsibilities for Ford of Australia and Ford of Europe, culminating in her patriation to Ford headquarters in 2002. In 2010, she was named the vice president of human resources for Ford Asia Pacific.
