Latest Toyota Recall Affects 1.67 Million Vehicles Worldwide
It seems like just yesterday that we covered our last Toyota recall. Oh, wait. It was just yesterday. But, moving on, the latest Toyota recall concerns a whopping 1.67 million vehicles, mainly in Japan and other overseas markets. The automaker is recalling the vehicles in question due to possible defects in the brakes that could cause bad things to happen (as you’d expect with faulty brakes).
The Auris is one of many models affected by the latest Toyota recall
The Toyota models in question include 802,000 Japanese Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah, and Voxy models, plus a handful of Lexus models, manufactured between June 2007 and June 2012. These vehicles could have potential fuel leaks due to faulty rubber seal rings in the brake master cylinders. Toyota will also replace the brake booster if brake fluid has already leaked. Additionally, 759,000 vehicles are being recalled worldwide (and this number includes 423,000 in the US) to fix faulty fuel delivery pipes that could potentially cause a fire from a fuel leak.
Finally, Toyota is recalling 190,000 front-wheel drive Corolla Rumion and Auris models manufactured between October 2006 and October 2014. These vehicles are missing an idling feature that will fix a defective fuel evaporative emission control unit.
