Lexus Rolls the Last IS F Off the Line in Japan, So We Pause and Reflect
Whether they knew it or not, July 25 was a sad day for Lexus fans the world over as the last IS F rolled off of the assembly line in Tahara, Japan. Yukihiko Yaguchi, the designer responsible for the IS F,
Yaguchi recalled a bit of the story surrounding the production of the Lexus IS F and called every one of the 12,000 units sold over its lifetime important.
However bittersweet, Yaguchi will not have long to mourn the last IS F, as he will now focus on making the Lexus RC F the new face of Lexus performance. The RC F will be powered by a revamped version of the IS F’s 5.0-liter V8, which ups the output to 450 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.
The last IS F wore the famous shade of beautiful blue and will ultimately end up in the hands of a customer somewhere in the United States.
