Lifetime Brake Pad Guarantee

Ford has announced that, starting July 1, customers who purchase Motorcraft brake pads for their Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury (rejoice, Tracer owners of the world!) will receive no-cost replacement for as long as the customer owns the vehicle. The Lifetime Brake Pad Guarantee program is good at Ford or Lincoln dealers and at Quick Lane Tire & Auto Centers.

“This program reflects our commitment to providing customers with an excellent ownership experience regardless of the age of their vehicle,” said Frederiek Toney, vice president, Ford Motor Company and president, Ford Customer Service.

“When you purchase Motorcraft parts at a Ford or Lincoln dealer, or a Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center, you know you’re getting the right parts installed by the right people,” Toney added. “Motorcraft parts are the officially recommended parts for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, and these technicians are factory-trained and certified to service our products.”

Of course, there are a few stipulations to the Lifetime Brake Pad Guarantee. The brake pads must be worn down to less than three millimeters, and the customer is still responsible for labor and installation in addition to “other parts needed to return the brake system to original operating condition.”

Certain commercial vehicles are also eligible for the program. Taxi, limousine, postal, police, towing, and emergency vehicles are ineligible. Racing vehicles are also not eligible, so you’re out of luck if you drive a souped-up Cougar at the track every weekend. If you happen to race a souped-up Cougar for the fun of it, you are our favorite person.
