The Lincoln MKZ reclaimed its spot as the brand’s best seller

It was a December to remember for the Lincoln Motor Company. Lincoln scored its best result for the month since 2009 with sales of 9,690 vehicles, good enough for a 21.4% year-over-year increase.

The 2015 Lincoln MKC’s status as the brand’s best-selling model was short-lived, sliding just behind the MKZ’s tally of 2,636 units. Nonetheless, the Lincoln MKC enjoyed its best sales month since launch with an impressive 2,310 units sold, bringing its to-date total for 2014 to 13,077 units.

The MKZ was down 6.6% for the month, but its status (along with the MKZ Hybrid) as the centerpiece of the second phase of the Matthew McConaughey-starring ad campaign should serve it well in 2015.

Improving considerably in December was the Lincoln Navigator, which increased sales 90.2% over December 2013 with deliveries totaling 1,792 units.

2015 Lincoln MKS

Lincoln added 927 deliveries for the MKS, which could very well wind up being replaced by the revived Continental nameplate in 2015 (if Neil Young’s words hold any water under a harvest moon). The soon-to-be-revamped MKX tallied 1,669 sales in December, and the MKT added on 356 sales.

Lincoln December sales brought the brand’s full-year sales for 2014 to a total of 94,474 units, the best Lincoln has managed since 2008.
