Lincoln designers like Jenny Kubinec (pictured) drew inspiration from fashion trends for the 2015 MKC

In selecting colors and materials present in the all-new 2015 Lincoln MKC, Lincoln designers drew a great deal of inspiration from the fashion world, monitoring new trends and keeping an eye on all things hot (and not) in the effort of ensuring the company’s small premium utility fit the luxury bill just right.

“Seeing something as simple as elaborate stitching on a handbag or an accent color on a designer jacket can really impact our design strategy,” said Jenny Kubinec, Lincoln color and materials designer.

Lincoln’s dedication to ensuring that the materials present in the MKC pass the test for the most demanding luxury customers is nowhere more apparent than it is with Bridge of Weir® Deepsoft leather seats, which are offered in the Reserve package.

Lincoln is also offering a number of striking colors for the MKC, including Tahitian Pearl, Midnight Sapphire, and Smoked Quartz. These colors were influenced by Pantone® determining that Radiant Orchid was the Color of the Year in 2014 and that Classic Blue would be one of the hottest colors next spring.

“With the MKC targeting a younger, savvy customer, we wanted to offer a trend color that was a little more daring and adventurous,” said Janet Seymour, Lincoln color and materials design manager.  “It’s a bold, dramatic color that sets Lincoln apart.”
