Lincoln MKC Set for October 23 Release Date in China

A big component of Lincoln’s ongoing revitalization project is the success of the brand in the Chinese marketplace. With Lincoln sales on the uptick once again in America with the help of the interest conjured by Matthew McConaughey’s ads for the MKC (and the various parodies thereof), it’s reasonable to suspect that the MKC will play just as significant a role in Lincoln’s overall success in China.

The first shipment of Lincoln vehicles arrived in China in mid-September, and we know now when they will officially hit the market. According to Car News China, the MKC will go on sale starting October 23 at a starting price around 350,000 yuan ($57,000 USD) for the “Exclusive” trim and topping out around 450,000 yuan ($73,000 USD) for the “Honor” trim. The mid-level trim will be known as the “Elegant” model.

Lincoln China is currently promoting dealership locations in Xi’an, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Qingdao, and Hangzhou. That leaves Beijing conspicuously absent from the sales infrastructure, but Car News China offers the suggestion that Lincoln is planning a larger flagship location for the city to be opened at a later date.

Lincoln has said it plans to mark the occasion of the MKC and the MKZ going on sale in China with multi-city celebrations in October. We will have more details as they become available.
