Lincoln NAIAS Booth Uses Shinola, Dwell to Draw Product Parallels
At this year’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), visitors to the Lincoln Motor Company’s stand will be able to visit galleries intended to draw connections to the 2015 Lincoln MKC and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The galleries at the Lincoln NAIAS booth, featuring contributions from Shinola and Dwell, will be ready for the public to behold when the doors of the Cobo Center open to the public from January 18-26.

“It’s great to welcome Shinola and Dwell, brands that share our passion for outstanding design and craftsmanship,” said Matt VanDyke, director, global Lincoln, in the brand’s official press statement. “The Lincoln stand at the North American International Auto Show will provide guests with an experience that is informative and immersive.”
Shinola will display a number of American-made goods at the Lincoln stand, including watches, bicycles, leather, shoe care polish, curated items, and journals. The motivation seems to be drawing a connection between their products and Lincoln’s American-manufactured automobiles.

Dwell will be representing the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid with their “A Glimpse of Spring” gallery, which will feature a number of grasses and wildflowers that typically do not grow in Michigan. It will also bring along a number of products from its product lineup that emphasize the ideas of nature, sustainability, and sanctuary.
The Lincoln NAIAS booth will also include a lattice wall with vitrines, an art collection that will also be displayed at Shinola’s storefront in Detroit, a unique soundscape, a public lounge that features a 1932 Lincoln KB Dietrich as its centerpiece, and Hoberman Spheres—a blend of art and mechanical engineering that creates a pleasing pulse of light and sound.
