Lincoln Sales Climb 20% as Every Vehicle Sees YoY Gains
Lincoln sales were up 19.6% in September in what could very well be considered a watershed moment for the brand in 2015. While only standing as the fourth-best month in terms of overall sales, September represented the first time in who knows how long that every single vehicle in Lincoln’s lineup experienced year-over-year sales growth.
Lincoln cars were up 13.7% thanks to a 14.4% increase in MKZ sales and a 10.1% increase in MKS sales. Sales of the MKZ totaled 2,490 units and MKS sales totaled 503 units for a total of 2,993 cars sold. Overall, Lincoln’s car sales are down 14% through nine months.
As has been the case in every month of 2015, Lincoln rode the popularity of its Navigator and MKC to a big year-over-year gain for utility vehicles. Lincoln sold a total of 5,687 utilities, good for a 23% year-over-year increase; the all-new Lincoln MKX led the way with 2,136 sales and a 34.4% increase, sales of the MKC totaled 2,039 units (up 15.7%), and sales of the Navigator were up 6.8% at 1,082 units sold. Sales of the MKT were also up, totaling 430 units versus 259 sold in September 2014. Through nine months, Lincoln’s utilities are up 31.1%.
Through three quarters, Lincoln’s US sales total 73,964 units, good for a 9.1% increase to date.
